As part of our regular maintenance work here at our Michigan Data Center, we just finished replacing one of two battery strings in our larger UPS. These strings require occasional inspection and the batteries last (depending on frequency of use) about four years. This time, however, we installed larger, longer lasting, batteries to improve our UPS runtime, and minimize necessary replacements.
In other news, the site has undergone some visual modification, expansion, and a general sprucing up. This comes from our constant drive for efficiency, and reliability. It also comes from our affinity for nice looking websites. |

Waveform Technology is supporting Roel Marasigan's participation in the American Heart Association’s Heart Walk. This is a worthy cause and a great opportunity for us to reach out to our community. If you’re interested in helping Roel with his fundraising goal, or want to learn about the American Heart Association, then have a look here.

Even though we’re a little late for Earth Day, Waveform Technology is proud to announce our Renewable Energy Offset Program. This voluntary service allows interested customers to buy renewable energy credits to power their servers through DTE’s Green Currents program. Waveform will also match all purchase to this program to pay for renewable energy for heat rejection.
We’re really excited about this program and ready to form partnershisp with current and new customers to help the environment we all live in. You can join by emailing us here. To read more about this program, have a look at the program here. |

Waveform Technology wants you to see Fame. Our very own Noel Montales is the Technical Director of this Marion Rice Players production. Not to mention another Waveform employee, Kevin Debs, is an alum of this very theater troop. Imagine that. So get out this weekend and support your local educational theater scene. Fame is playing April 17th, 18th, and 19th at 7:30pm and April 20th at 2:00pm. |

It took a little while, but we’ve added some datacenter photography to the new site, along with a nifty way of viewing them. For now it’s just some pictures of the physical equipment in the datacenter, including a shot of what we like to call “air conditioner row.” We’re going to work on getting some more images up, but our artist to engineer staff ratio is not speeding that effort along. |

With the warm weather suddenly here in Troy, we’ve been going over our heat rejection system to make sure everything is in order for the summer. This means some preventive maintenance on our outdoor drycoolers and an inspection of the air conditioning units. We’re ensuring reliability and improving the system’s efficiency—meaning less electrical usage and a smaller carbon footprint. That’s good news for everyone.

Noticed a new look? We've been spending a lot of time on our new site. It's still in the beta stage, but it's got a better look, more information, and should be a lot easer to use. We're going to run the old site in parallel until we're sure we've got everything here pristine. That old thing may not be the best looking of websites, but it served us for a while and did a good job at it too. If you can't find what you're looking for here, you might want to try looking at the old Waveform site. |
