Michigan SAS 70 Data Center
Waveform Technology’s Michigan Data Center offers a total colocation environment for your hardware and data. We own and operate our data center; we do not resell other provider's space. This keeps your equipment safe and Waveform's rates low. Always ask before selecting a colocation data center.
Waveform Technology's Michigan Data Center is as SAS 70 certified colocation facility. This means the controls we've put in place to keep the data center online have been physically audited by a third party. Colocate in the Michigan Data Center with confidence.

Waveform Built Michigan Fiber Optic Network
Connections are assured through redundant fiber paths leading to multiple upstream carriers. We peer locally with our carriers, here in Southeast Michigan, and use combined layer-1 ring redundancy and layer-3 BGP4 IP protection to provide the Michigan Data Center with unparalleled uptime. Waveform uses only Cisco routers and switches throughout our facility and network.
Because we’ve built Waveform's own Michigan fiber network, we offer reliable bandwidth at competitive prices.
Liebert Cooled Data Center
We use nine redundant (n+1) Liebert Precision System/3 air conditioning units for cooling. These high capacity units are specificity constructed to cool a high density data center. A complete duct infrastructure covers the entire facility and ensures equal distribution of cool air. Servers produce a dry (or sensible) heat requiring each unit to also monitor and maintain a suitable humidity level, necessary to minimize static electricity.
Our Liebert air conditioning units are glycol cooled and utilize outdoor Liebert dry coolers for heat rejection. This setup allows us to take advantage of Liebert’s GLYCOOL system during cooler months. The GLYCOOL system routs the naturally cooled glycol returning from the dry coolers to a second coil inside each air conditioning unit, which becomes the primary source of cooling. This reduces or eliminates compressor run time and is an efficient data center cooling method—especially during Michigan’s winters.
For additional passive cooling redundancy, The Michigan Data Center's ceiling is a full 20 feet high. This allows equipment to radiate heat upwards instead of outwards towards neighboring servers. Total heat rejection efficiency is higher.
Uninterruptible Power
![]()
In the event of a power outage, three Liebert online double conversion uninterruptible power supplies (zero transfer time) power the Michigan Data Center while a diesel generator starts. This setup provides disruption and distortion free electricity to our critical load. An indoor fuel tank can supply independent run time for a minimum of two days and priority refueling contracts through multiple vendors guarantee a constant supply. We test the generator weekly.
A+B+C bus power is available, meaning customers can request three independent power paths for their equipment, spanning three separate UPSs.
For the protection of customer equipment, a Liebert power surge suppression system guards the entire data center.
Constant Data Center Monitoring and Security by our Michigan Staff
A Pre-Action Dry Pipe fire suppression system protects against fire. The design couples advanced fire detection sensors with a dry pipe sprinkler system—providing security from false discharges without sacrificing safety.
An advanced security framework safeguards both the interior and exterior of the Michigan facility. We operate two independent digital video recording systems, covering the entire perimeter of the building, entrances, and secure sections inside the data center. Doorways are managed by a card access system which records all access. Security alarms elicit an armed response.
Our location in Troy, Michigan places our data center in a low crime area with a respected and professional police force. Southeastern Michigan is also free from natural disasters such as hurricanes, floods, earthquakes, and tsunamis. The data center is above the 500 year flood plane. Our staff monitors the data center 24 hours a day.
If you're local to Michigan, or sending your equipment across the country, Waveform's Michigan Data Center is a responsible choice for colocation.
