Reliable  Connections

Metro Ethernet connections come in port speeds of 10 Mb/s, 100 Mb/s, 1 Gb/s, and 10 Gb/s.  These connections can provide Waveform blended bandwidth for Internet access, a connection to any other carrier on our network, or another type of point to point circuit.  Metro Ethernet has a lower bandwidth overhead compared to other transport types, such as ATM or frame relay.  

The Waveform network is reliable because we’re locally multi-homed in Southeast Michigan.  Waveform has built redundancy into our backbone to ensure that Metro Ethernet customers always remain online.  Multiple up-streams give us the ability to survive carrier losses, and makes Waveform customers immune to carrier disputes and routing failures.    

Adaptable Point to Points

Thanks to the inherent adaptability of Metro Ethernet, connections can also be used to connect to any carrier on our network via Metro Cross Connects.  These can connect any point on Waveform’s fiber network, including our Michigan Data Center, to AT&T, MCI, Level (3), XO, SBC, or select data centers.  Waveform can also use Metro Cross Connects to connect a companies office directly to their colocated equipment in our Michigan Data Center.
