Waveform History

Waveform Technology started in 1992; back then we designed and installed commercial sound reinforcement in venues such as schools and churches. This experience led us to wiring computer networks and by 1994 we were installing and maintaining the first Internet connections to many of the private schools in the Detroit area. We bought our first T1 at this time and sold 64k DDS circuits to our customers.

We expanded as an Internet service provider throughout the 90’s, supplying T1, DS3, ISDN, and dial up connections. At the time we also provided web hosting and a great deal of onsite consulting, wiring, and network installation.

Waveform started offering colocation services in 1998, but 2003 saw a sea change in operations with our move into a shared data center. Since then colocation has been a primary focus of our operations.

By 2006 we had started to outgrow our shared facility and decided we needed our own dedicated colocation center. That year we built our Troy Michigan Data Center and began construction of our Metro Detroit Fiber Ring. Customers started turning up in our new home early in 2007. We continue to this day to expand and improve the capabilities of our data center in order to ensure our customers receive a premium colocation experience.
