Michigan Colocation and Data Center Services by Waveform Technology LLC

As part of an ongoing effort to move to renewable energy sources Waveform Technology provides the voluntary Renewable Energy Offset Program. Participating customers will pay energy credits and ensure their colocated servers at our Michigan Data Center are powered by renewable energy through DTE Energy’s Green Currents Program. Credits are available in monthly increments and cover 100% of a server or rack’s power usage.

Direct power is really only half of the required energy associated with colocated servers. For every watt a server draws, an additional watt is required for heat rejection. In order to pay for this heat rejection, Waveform Technology will match all customer investment into this program. Therefore, customers who participate in the Renewable Energy Offset Program know that their servers are run, cooled, and supported completely with clean renewable energy.

The costs of this voluntary program will be added as a line item to the invoices of participants. All money received from this program will be matched by Waveform Technology and paid directly to DTE’s Green Currents Program.

Because we believe in renewable energy, Waveform also purchases renewable energy independent of this program; however, renewable energy is more expensive. This program is a partnership between Waveform and interested customers to help us use more renewable energy without a rate increase.
